As we work together on their specific issue(s), we collaborative identify therapeutic time-bound goals related to the issues that brought them into therapy.
Connecting and developing a therapeutic alliance is of utmost importance at the beginning phase of treatment. I believe in providing clients with the opportunity to familiarize themselves with me, as their therapist, as they are encouraged to raise questions and/or concerns about their treatment and/or the therapeutic approach/framework.
During the interactive process clients should be able to perceive being validated, challenged and empowered with skills and tools to manage their struggles. Collaborating with practitioners, and/or family members, involved in the treatment and lives of clients, is an approach that I will encourage as a vital approach for the success of their treatment.
