Counseling is a hard work process and my task is to help my clients through that work. With over 50 years of experience working and studying in the field I have worked with a huge number of clients with a variety of issues. I have experience working with addictions, personality disorders, depression, anxiety, domestic violence, parenting, ADHD, adolescents, sexual disorders, PTSD, and many more issues.
My primary goal is to help teach clients how to take control of their lives on a daily basis. Basically, to teach them how to decide each day that it is truly a wonderful day to be lived to its best.
I practice Cognitive Behavioral Theory but believe all of the six primary theoretical approaches may have value for my clients. I stress taking care of ones self physically. I also expect clients to follow their own spiritual beliefs, whatever they may be. I will employ techniques from any therapeutic approach that will assist the clients.
I truly care about the lives my clients lead and want them to learn to be fulfilled and as happy as they can possibly be. Life can be difficult at times but it is an interesting if not thrilling adventure. Learning how to overcome problems is a part of life. My task is to help clients learn how to do this.
