My clinical interest is counseling teens and adults through family challenges, impulsivity, identity, self-esteem, school/work, relationships, transitions, ethnic identity and immigrant backgrounds, grief and loss, trauma and more. We'll work toward behavior change, mood regulation, communication, self-acceptance, distress tolerance, assertiveness, resolving trauma, enhancing daily functioning, addressing relationship challenges, boundary setting and self-awareness. I'm trained to use the foundations of CBT, DBT, ACT, Person Centered Therapy, Trauma-Informed Care (TIC), motivational therapy, attachment theory and more.
My clients are looking develop coping skills, cognitive skills, social skills, and higher levels of emotional intelligence which helps them better understand their emotions, decrease the likelihood of maladaptive behaviors and identify and challenge negative or irrational thoughts that affect relationships, self esteem, school or work and functioning.
Through giving voice to your story, you gain freedom and open up doors for healing, innovation and change. I will start by helping you with immediate emotional concerns. We will also work to discover what your goals are in therapy and create a plan to achieve them.
