I have been involved with and supporting the LGBTIQQA community for over 2 decades now. I am an advocate and ally and believe people are more than just a label. I am a gender therapist, serving the transgender & gender fluid community exclusively. I can support you through the SRS process or any transition you desire to make in your life.

The interface between contemporary psychology and the wisdom of contemplative practice spirituality is central to my work with individuals and couples and to my general approach to therapy. With the use of MINDFULNESS based therapy and a non-judgmental and non-pathological approach I create a healing and supportive environment were growth and transformation can take place through our in depth process of exploration. My potential client is experiencing anxiety. This can show up as sleeplessness, repetitive worries and intrusive thoughts, overwhelm and physical symptoms, and shutting down. My potential client is experiencing burnout. This can show up as exhaustion, apathy, hopelessness, overwhelm at small things, negative self-talk, and straight-up rebellion from the body. Joy is hard to come by. My potential client is experiencing loneliness. This can come from isolation, from the removal of regular socializing, and from negative self-talk.

Thank you for your interest in my practice! I offer my support to people from a variety of ethnic backgrounds, gender identities, and sexual orientations. I have a focus on clients who are going through large transitions or grief, deal with anxiety and depression, who have experienced trauma and PTSD, and are over all looking to discover their life’s course. A genuine relationship is at the root of my practice. My hope is that my clients feel they can enter the therapy room as their authentic selves and that they feel an authentic person is also sitting in front of them.

Coming from a blended family that is White, Black, Latinx, and Jewish, Emma is also passionate about helping individuals and families navigate identify dynamics in nontraditional family systems.

Being human can be hard! We are wired to be in relationship with one another, yet connection is hard for so many reasons. At an early age we learn and develop patterns of living and coping skills based on what was most adaptive at that time. On one hand, super smart! At the same time, these patterns can become outdated over time and no longer support the life or relationship(s) we want. I am not dedicated to a single particular theory or technique, but will use whatever works best for you. Often traditional talk therapy is most effective, but I have also successfully used cognitive/behavioral therapy, dream analysis, writing, art therapy, meditation, sand trays, group therapy, experiential therapy, and guided imagery. I also work to help you explore and strengthen your higher values and whatever you find most meaningful in your life.

Trauma and other difficult experiences can impact the way we view our relationships, the world, and ourselves. I support clients in processing traumatic experiences, identifying triggers, and reclaiming their sense of safety and joy. I work with teens, adults, couples/relationships, and families of all kinds.
