I work from a Narrative Theoretical Lens, which means that I believe the stories we tell are reflective of the life we are living. I also engage in an integrative approach which means I pull from many different therapeutic techniques. I welcome all clients, and provide an empathetic, warm space to my clients. Whether you need assistance in working through a traumatic event, gaining better stress management and coping skills, or just someone to process some of life's toughest moments, I strive to serve all clients.

Work sucks! Your professional life is supposed be rewarding, not a pain in the neck that causes endless stress and anxiety. It’s hard to get up every morning and go to a job that drains the life out of you. And you spend all your time at work – in-person during the day and through your anxious thoughts that you drag home at night. Sleep doesn’t come easy. Your mind keeps you wide awake, as it struggles to make sense of your life. You wonder what you need to change to break free of this misery. Hobbies and activities that used to take the edge off aren’t working like they used to.

It's incredibly important to find a counselor you feel safe and comfortable with. In my experience, clients find it hard to open up in counseling if they experience the counselor as inauthentic. I remain genuine throughout the counseling experience in order to promote a comfortable and relaxed atmosphere with you. While I see the benefits of specific counseling techniques and interventions, I believe the counselor-client relationship is the most important aspect of counseling. As a counselor, my job is to empower you, assist you in your journey of self exploration, to challenge you, and to consider the impact of culture and identity

You can be happy and confident in your sexuality and sex life. Even if you feel as though it has disappeared, is out of control/"addicted", or is broken, there is hope. I work with clients who always or never want sex, who feel guilt or shame about sex, who are feeling overwhelmed by sex, whose genitals aren't working how they want, who are trying to figure out their sexuality, who are unhappy with sex in their relationship, whose relationships have been hurt by their own or their partner's sexuality, and so much more. My passion is working with clients that have been in therapy before and don't believe it will help, struggle to trust others, and are generally resistant to services. I also am Level II trained in Gottman Couple's Therapy and knowledgeable around EFT (Emotionally Focused Couples Therapy). I have a passion for working with trauma and have advanced training in EMDR. In addition to providing mental health treatment, I am also a Licensed Addictions Counselor. I have found at the root of nearly all addiction is trauma, which is my focus. Welcome to my page! It takes great courage to take these steps and I am honored that you stopped here on your journey. Day to day activities can be more than challenging these days. Society tells us that we need to be able to be all and do all without breaking a sweat. Often times we are juggling so many things, we can lose ourselves in the life shuffle and become consumed by who we are for others, not for ourselves, and losing ourselves in the process.

We all go through times of sef-doubt, depression and anxiety. Life change can amplify these. I believe all feelings are valid, because we are feeling them. What we think about them can create a harmful or helpful situation. Being very present creates calm as we are in the situation as it happens rather than in the past or future thinking about what we did or will do. This practice strengthens relationships as well as offers personal insight and growth. My job as the therapist is to allow my clients a place to explore the space in their heads. I help clients accept and understand their emotions creating new behavior patterns.

It is essential to have a counselor that truly understands you, that you feel comfortable with and is your "best fit" counselor. I've always said that theory and application are two different things. I will not make you fit into a preconceived psyche mold, rather we will plot the therapy course that meets your needs and goals from where you have been to where you are going. I have found a passion working with individuals and partners who are struggling sexually or romantically. This could be a desire to work out major relational conflicts, solve sexual problems that are interfering with connection, and/or general relational maintenance.

My work with couples and families is grounded in the Psychobilogical Approach to Couples Therapy (PACT) and I am a Level II certified PACT therapist.
