At JFS, we believe that every single individual has the right to mental health care with as few barriers as possible. This is why we offer our services to children, adults, and families of all ages, faiths, and backgrounds. We also strive to eliminate the financial barrier by offering payment through an income-based sliding scale, private insurance, Medicaid, Medicare, and CHIP. Language should also not be an obstacle which is why we have bilingual therapists on staff. Whether you’re feeling depressed, anxious, or maybe you know that something just doesn’t feel right – the licensed staff at JFS is here to help.
The professional staff at JFS is dedicated to helping you successfully cope with life’s changes and challenges. We help thousands of people every year, offering services in an environment of caring and respect for human dignity, privacy, and diversity. Our experienced, highly-trained clinicians offer expert counseling to help clients with a wide variety of needs including: ADHD, mood/behavioral disorders, stress management, trauma, grief and loss, anger management, parenting or family issues, and more. We also have an array of group therapy options for adults – and coming soon, for kids too! Our groups include: court-approved Anger Management (English and Spanish), the Bending Blend anxiety/yoga group, Managing Your Anxiety, Trauma Recovery (both men’s and women’s groups), Mindfulness-Based Relapse Prevention, and an Adult Relationship Improvement group.
More and more, research shows that one’s mental health is tied to their overall physical health. For example, long-term bouts of depression can have a lasting impact upon your blood pressure. JFS understands that life is busy and hectic, but we also understand the importance of self-care --- and we want to make sure you know too. Even if you’re experiencing a little extra stress in your life, there’s no shame or guilt in reaching out to talk to someone. In order to reach the most people possible, JFS has two locations in San Antonio: 1) north side off NW Military and Wurzbach Parkway and 2) south side off Mission Road. Whichever location is closest to your home or work, we have the resources to provide the help you need.
