You want to help your child live a full, happy life, and you're worried that they won't get there on the path they seem to be on. They're stumped at each turn by depression, anxiety, psychosis, or by painful things that have happened to them in the past. Their behavior has changed, and you want to understand why, and what you can do to help, but the things you try often seem to backfire.

I strive to create a warm and welcoming space for you to grow and heal. Primarily, I see individual adults or teens (16+). LGBTQ+ friendly and experienced in working through unique challenges. I enjoy working with all genders, all sexual orientations, and mono- and polyamorous individuals. Over the past several years, I have gained an interest in working with Highly-Sensitive Persons (HSPs). Challenges with mood (depression, bi-polar, dysthymia), anxiety (panic attacks, general anxiety, PTSD, phobias, OCD), psychosis-related disorders (schizophrenia), grief and loss, relationship concerns, adjusting to life transitions, career, and personal development.

My office has 5 therapists accepting Pacific Source (OHP and Commercial) clients. We have immediate openings for adults and a waitlist for children and teens. We work with individuals, families, and couples of all ages, cultures, and backgrounds. We have training and experience working with individuals with ADHD, grief and loss, DID, psychosis, on the autism spectrum, in foster care, co-parenting, eating disorders, anxiety, depression, PTSD, parenting skills, school problems, defiant behaviors and family reintegration. We have a clinician fluent in Spanish with much experience conducting therapy in Spanish.

This life can be hard to navigate for anyone. It can be particularly challenging when you have experienced trauma, relational conflict, and emotional instability. You may find yourself fearful of deep connections with others while still deeply desiring support and compassion. If this sounds familiar, I am here to help. Ellen Hess is a certified EMDR therapist serving Washington and Oregon state. They work with clients struggle with C-PTSD, PTSD or trauma related issues as well as most mental health struggles. Many of Ellen’s clients come in for anxiety, panic, depression, sleep struggles and/or relational struggles. Ellen is particularly passionate about serving childhood trauma and LGBTQ+ populations. They also have advanced training in the areas of CBT for Insomnia and CBT for Psychosis.

Not Accepting Clients At This Time-My name is Pauline Botchway, and I strongly believe that, as human beings, we have the ability to change and transform our lives through choice. Since no single theory can capture our experiences as human beings, I utilize an integrated approach that allows me to use some aspects of Gestalt, Existential, and Solution Focused, as well as high utilization of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and EMDR. In addition to my community mental health, I am including private practice in my line of work. My main goal as a clinician is to help and guide individuals to change their lives to improve everyday living.

My counseling approach is based on the belief that everyone can create meaningful change within themselves. I believe that all entities whether it be individuals, couples or families have the innate ability to create change and resolve issues. I think we are all intrinsically designed to be resilient and to find strength from within ourselves when it is needed. As a forward thinker, I am prone to believe that when hope is instilled, and solutions are sought or offered there is always a greater possibility for change to occur.

My work focuses on increasing satisfaction and meaning in people's lives. My goal is providing competent, insight-focused therapy with an emphasis on self-compassion and improving the relationship with the self. My approach is helpful for people trying to navigate burnout, perfectionism, low self-esteem, and self-criticism. Growing up as a biracial Latino, I struggled with navigating questions about racial identity, internalized racism, fitting in with different groups, and managing different sets of cultural expectations. I’m passionate about working with clients who experience similar challenges with any of their identities.

I have over 28 years of experience supporting people struggling with a variety of issues - depression, anxiety, addiction, trauma & PTSD, grief & loss, life changes, abuse, and more. Well, here we are! Most of us recovering from a global pandemic, the monkey pox, and now we must worry whether our children will be safe in their schools and whether to return to work or work from home. The decisions we must make for ourselves and our families can be difficult, and sometimes that can be very overwhelming. Life can be stressful; I know firsthand what it’s like to suffer and make sacrifices I wasn’t ready for. I too have issues; I would be lying to you if I told you otherwise. Sometimes it can feel as if we have no one to talk to and nobody who cares. Well, I care, and we can face through life’s issues together.

We each have within us a spark, though it may become dimmed or buried deeply through life's trials and trauma. Fortunately, with proper guidance and support, everyone has insight and wisdom within to grow and ignite their innate radiance, to embrace healing and growth. As a spiritually-based holistic wellbeing practitioner, I offer a dynamic approach to healing for each individual, by drawing on my two decades of experience working in the fields of health, wellness, balance, and healing.

I have throughout my career developed and implemented Women's Outpatient Treatment, Trauma-informed treatment, Seeking Safety groups, Better Boundary groups, Co-occurring groups, Smoking Cessation groups, providing assessments for mental health, and ASAM Assessments. This has also required building community liaisons and partners with referrals to treatment facilities that provide inpatient/outpatient services and reporting to third-party referrals such as Corrections, Child Welfare, DMV, and other Mental Health organizations.

My approach to individual and family counseling is rooted in a compilation of family of origin, family systems, cognitive behavioral, collaborative problem solving, solution focused and narrative theories. He earned a bachelor's degree from Graceland College in 1998, studying Sociology and Psychology and a Master of Social Work degree from Portland State University in 2006 studying Counseling. Eric is a member of the National Association of Social Workers. He has extensive training and experience in providing child and family therapy.
