Kathleen earned both her Bachelor of Arts and Masters Degree from Chapman University College in Orange, California. Her years of specialized training and experience have equipped her with skills in various therapeutic approaches including solution focused therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, and EMDR. She has a background in treating co-occurring disorders (substance abuse treatment and mental health). She customizes her approach to meet the needs and presenting problems of her clients and directs their treatment to establish a therapeutic alliance in order to facilitate the bridge to health.

I'm a clinical psychologist practicing with those who suffer from depression, anxiety, obsessions, anger, aloofness, issues of identity and intimacy, difficult life circumstances and many other problems. While I value knowledge about psychopathology, I find a purely diagnosis-based approach to be insufficient. Instead, we can be curious together about those factors which underlie and perpetuate your particular suffering. This process of exploration and discovery can only happen in a safe and confidential relationship. It is always a great privilege when someone chooses to reveal themselves to me on deeply personal levels.

Personal suffering is often a call to look deeper into ourselves so that we can bring to light who we truly are. Jonathan Wesley, LMFT has been a practicing psychotherapist in California since the late 1980’s. His work has included community mental health agencies, hospitals, and private practice. His clients have included people receiving care in the public mental health system, as well as those who have private health insurance through their jobs and families. He has worked with many different disorders and problems in living, including work stress, mood disorders, and individuals with chronic mental illness. Jonathan is trained in Psychodynamic theory as well as the more prevalent, evidence-based practice of Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy.

Dr. Aza Tetelman is a licensed clinical psychologist specializing in depression, anxiety, grief, trauma, inter-generational conflicts and substance abuse. She enjoys facilitating self-understanding via bibliotherapy techniques, whether through the use of novels, self-help books, comics, or other media. She also believes that preventative care is just as important as healing in the aftermath of life challenges. Her clinical approach is warm and attentive, and takes on relational, dialectic, and insight-oriented approaches to treatment.

Although I work with children and adolescents individually, working with them alone is not sufficient. As a rule, I strive to incorporate parents in the process as much as possible. I also strongly believe in involving teachers, pediatricians, and other professionals in order to provide comprehensive treatment. As a parent myself, I am very aware of what it is like for me to entrust my childrens' care into the hands of another. For me, working with children is thus a very privileged thing.
