Dr. Kim has had considerable experience providing individual, group, and family psychotherapy to children, adolescents, young adults, parents, and families from diverse backgrounds. She has provided psychotherapy for a wide range of concerns, including anger management issues, anxiety, depression, mood dysregulation, trauma, inattention, disruptiveness, and social communication disorders. Dr. Kim also specializes in working with individuals and families with an immigration background. She has conducted research on the adjustment experience of recent immigrants to academic environments in the U.S. Finally, Dr. Kim provides both monolingual (English) and bilingual (English/Korean) psychological evaluations. Her areas of assessment include ADHD, Learning Disability, Developmental Disability, Personality assessments.

Dr. Lauren Tobing-Puente designed her private practice, renamed Connected Growth & Wellbeing (CGW), to carry forth her mission of supporting individuals’ development, including clients as young as toddlers through adulthood, and their families. We have grown since 2006 to meet the needs of the neurodivergent community, now as a dynamic group of licensed psychologists, postdoctoral psychologist, and mental health clinicians. Our specialties include assessing and supporting individuals with neurodevelopmental disorders, including autism spectrum disorder and attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), and learning challenges.

As a clinical psychologist/psychoanalyst with a specialized focus on children, adolescents, adults, and families, I accompany my clients in meeting their personal goals and in improving relationships.I am particularly sensitive to multicultural issues and I work collaboratively with each client based on their specific needs. I specialize in different forms of psychotherapy, including cognitive-behavioral therapy and psycho-dynamic therapy. I also work with individual patients using EMDR, a therapeutic technique to clear traumatic experiences which get "stuck" in emotions, body and brain and cause symptoms which bring clients into therapy.

Every human being has the right to pursue happiness without being inundated with emotional and behavioral problems. Happiness is not optional but mandatory. Everyone deserves a fulfilling life. To achieve optimal success and happiness, we must maintain emotional health as well as physical health. If we lose this emotional component, physical health is not achievable, and vice versa.
