Stress wearing you down? I am certified in Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), an empirically validated model for helping couples and families to turn conflicts into opportunities for connection. I also employ both EMDR and IFS (Internal Family Systems) with individuals, have worked extensively with cultural differences at home and professionally, and am a custody evaluator. I specialize in working with interracial, interfaith or LGBT families, as well as parenting and services for children ages 1-7. My practice is poly-friendly and has a social justice orientation.
Whether with individuals, couples, group intensives or with kids 1-7 and their parents, I work relationally. I try to bring compassion, mindfulness and practical solutions to bear on real-life problems. I hold a doctorate from CSPP, an MBA from Stanford and a BA from Yale.
I have been fortunate enough to work with many African-American, Mexican, Salvadorean, Nicaragüense, Chinese, Japanese, Malay, Kazak, Mongolian, Afghani, Pakistani, Parsi, Russian and bicultural clients. I've trained extensively at UCSF to help parents and young children, and taught couples therapy in several states and in Moscow, Russia.
