Announcement icon I am meeting in person with most clients, however due to the continuing Covid-19 pandemic, I do offer online video and telephone sessions.
Welcome, I specialize in working with anxiety, anger management, depression, family and couple therapy, and negotiating life transitions (marriage, divorce, loss, career change, changes in faith). I have a directive, practical approach that balances understanding, with support, guidance and direction. I believe that in order for therapy to be meaningful, it is important to work together and create an individualized approach that is a unique match for your concerns and style. Many people who have felt little or no progress in therapy before, have made positive changes with my active, engaged approach.
I enjoy working with young adults, adults, couples, and families. I use a variety of approaches in therapy including: supportive therapy, psychodynamic, CBT, Jungian, and family systems theory. I also use mindfulness based therapy, and behavioral directives in my work with anger management, and anxiety.
My bachelors degree is in music from Northern Illinois University. I am offering (besides counseling/ therapy) two types of music therapy: therapeutic guitar lessons (developing discipline, responsibility, and emotional maturity through the process of learning guitar) and therapeutic music interventions (using music to cope with stress, frustration, grief/loss, and depression)
