I do draw from multiple treatment modalities including: acceptance and commitment therapy, emotion focused therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, narrative therapy, internal family systems therapy, and psychodynamic therapy.
Therapy is an important step in a person's life, one that takes courage, awareness and careful thought. As a practicing psychotherapist for the last 15 years, I find it a privilege and honor to work with clients as they grow and learn about themselves and their lives. I believe it can be a wonderful opportunity to explore and move towards what is meaningful to you in your life. I also believe firmly that the therapist-client relationship is an important aspect in allowing for effective change and I strive to provide a warm, supportive and trusting environment throughout the process.

Many of us feel disconnected from ourselves and experience symptoms that constrict our lives and relationships. My goal as a therapist is to provide a safe environment where people can comfortably explore their longstanding, repetitive patterns, work through past trauma, integrate previously disowned parts of self, and discover their inner strengths. Using a holistic and integrative approach grounded in psychodynamic theory, I am committed to helping my clients gain insight and self-awareness and feel empowered to alter their present experiences by making intentional decisions that align with their values.

I use a combination of ACT(Acceptance and Commitment Therapy) which is a type of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Somatic Experiential (helps to tune into your body when you are numb/cut-off/or too much in your thoughts), Psychodynamic Experiential, Heart Rate Variance(HRV) biofeedback training, and Trauma Informed Mindfulness based skills.
I can help you discover and strengthen healthy boundaries, guide you to take action on your personal values and life goals, and teach you how to regain your emotional balance when life is working your last nerve. Be kinder to yourself, have greater patience with loved ones, your family of choice, friends and co-workers, and decrease the overwhelming sense of loneliness that you may have felt during this crummy pandemic.

With a background in cognitive behavioral and psychodynamic therapies, I use a blend of techniques to help my clients explore their unique emotional and behavioral patterns, tap into their strengths, and develop adaptive tools for managing the challenges they may be facing.
Thank you for exploring my webpage. I realize that doing so is a significant step and I hope that this information helps guide you in seeking the support you may need. I have been practicing in the field of clinical and neuropsychology for 20 years. Many individuals with whom I work are experiencing heightened stress, anxiety or depression in response to life circumstances, such as accidents/injuries, health issues, parenting challenges, and other provocative life situations. I offer a supportive environment to explore the ways in which such challenges may be motivating my clients to feel and behave as they do.

My approach is drawn from both classic and contemporary evidence-based theories including attachment, psychodynamic, humanistic/existential, acceptance-commitment, trauma-focused, cognitive behavior & dialectical behavior therapy.
We all endure challenges at some point or another in our lives yet we continue to strive forward to find peace, solace, content, or happiness. Therapy can help identify those goals, overcome barriers, and henceforth, head toward betterment & enrichment via personal growth.

In my work I draw from narrative therapy, queer and feminist theory, compassion based practices and psychodynamic.
Have you been going through big changes in your life? Do you feel like you've lost a lot, whether that's a part of yourself or an important relationship? Are you struggling to figure out who you are and what comes next? I'd love to be a part of your honorable journey in figuring out how to support. We are each born into this world filled with curiosity and hope, and unfortunately that doesn't always remain due to the hardships life brings. In my practice I will show up authentically and humbly. You know you best, and you truly are the expert of your own life!

I use aspects of psychodynamic psychotherapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Positive Psychology, and humanistic views in my work with people.
Hi there! Welcome to one more step in your search for the life you want. Therapy is one way to increase joy, be reminded of whats wonderful about yourself, and overcome the barriers that have blocked you in the past. It also gives you the tools to continue that process. Collaboratively we strengthen your sense of worth so that you have the energy and motivation to work toward your personal goals. Increasing self-compassion and awareness frees an individual from the habits or ruts we all tend to dip into in life.

Approaches I use include: Psychodynamic, Internal Family Systems (IFS), Emotion Focused Therapy (EFT), CBT and DBT, and trauma-informed somatic.
I am passionate about helping clients reconnect with themselves and move forward after relationship issues or trauma with a sense of strength, self-confidence, and healthy coping skills. I work with individuals (ages 9+) and couples who are healing from a harmful event or relationship, struggling with a sense of self and satisfaction, or want to gain insight into themselves and their relationships. Together we can work toward more self-awareness, satisfaction, and stronger communication skills while decreasing the negative effects of stress and conflict.

My approach to therapy is to provide a safe place to allow clients to explore. Using Psychodynamic, Solution-Focused Therapy, and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy allows me to meet clients where they are and work together to move past areas where they feel stuck. When clients have a safe space to discuss past events in their lives to understand their link to the present, they have a chance to develop their options and recreate a narrative for what they want their lives to be.

I draw from person-centered and psychodynamic therapies, while incorporating other interventions when appropriate.
We often find ourselves stuck in old patterns that no longer serve us. This can lead to feelings of restlessness, uncertainty, resentment, and loneliness. You may crave to feel seen and valued for all that you are. Perhaps you seek a sense of love and security. I am proud of you for taking the steps to heal. I view the therapeutic relationship as the foundation of healing. I hold a safe space by leading with curiosity, empathy, humor, and compassion. I will meet you with patience wherever you are on your journey and will not push you towards quick fixes.

Psychodynamic Therapists

Is psychodynamic therapy evidence-based?

Studies have found psychodynamic therapy to be effective in treating conditions like social anxiety, eating disorders, chronic pain, some personality disorders, and depression; indeed, some studies have found it to be just as effective as CBT or medication. What’s more, several studies have found that the benefits of psychodynamic therapy tend to endure—even grow—long after treatment has ended.

How long does psychodynamic therapy last?

Unlike CBT and other more structured forms of therapy, psychodynamic therapy tends to be open-ended and may not be limited to a set number of sessions. It is common for clients to be in therapy for a year or longer and to see their therapist one to three times a week, though the exact schedule and timeline may vary depending on a client’s challenges and progress. However, brief psychodynamic therapy is available, which tends to be more goal-oriented and typically unfolds over 16 to 30 sessions.

Does psychodynamic therapy work?

Research finds that psychodynamic therapy can help someone manage or reduce symptoms of diagnosable mental health conditions like depression or anxiety. The modality may also offer a range of benefits that are harder to measure but just as valuable—such as increased self-worth or healthier relationships. While no therapy type will work for everyone, research and anecdotal evidence suggest that psychodynamic therapy can be highly effective.

What are the limitations of psychodynamic therapy?

Some meta-analyses have concluded that there is little evidence to suggest that psychodynamic therapy can effectively treat certain mental health conditions such as PTSD, OCD, or psychosis, though it is sometimes used to do so. More broadly, the open-ended, free-association structure of psychodynamic therapy may be frustrating for clients who prefer a more structured, time-limited, or goal-oriented approach.
