My experience as a 14-year law enforcement officer led to my understanding of the unique and often complex issues that arise from serving communities and country, including addiction and trauma. I use evidence-based practices with a unique and holistic approach to healing and understand the culture and language associated with veteran and first responder communities. Drawing upon my Native American roots, I incorporate indigenous techniques when appropriate for the client.

While counseling often includes relief of challenging symptoms related to anxiety or feeling stuck, I also help clients navigate challenging life turning points, such as sudden career changes or unexpected medical diagnoses. For clients seeking further self-exploration, I provide a depth counseling approach in which we reflect on conscious and unconscious emotions to increase self-awareness and improve unhelpful psychological patterns.

Jean graduated with my MSW from Edinboro University. She has spent her professional life being a part of the helping relationship. Jean had the opportunity to work at the forensic unit, domestic violence shelter, addiction facility, and as a clinical program director for an adolescent facility. She values learning from my clients as well as sharing the knowledge.
