My psychoanalytic training informs my knowledge of the effects of the past on present living. I believe that intellectual insight must include embodied experience to generate change. My training in Somatic Experiencing and Embodied Imagination (a form of dreamwork) augment my psychoanalytic understanding while opening up access to unknown aspects of self. My years of working as a therapist however,have confirmed my belief that any psychic change occurs within a therapeutic relationship of trust, respect, safety and compassion.

The most important factor in a therapy relationship is the relationship itself. It is my task to be available, open and supportive as the person seeks to put into words what he/she is experiencing and to work through the negative effects or life experiences, as well as lifting to the fore each person's gifts, strengths and unique perspectives.
