I have a passion for working with adults who have survived difficult situations or past experiences. I have experience working as a first responder and spent many years in the military. I use this knowledge and experience to mold the treatments I use to best serve anyone who has faced difficult or insurmountable situations in the past. I work with those who have concerns with traumatic history, anxiety, depression, or just looking to understand themselves better. My ambition is to provide counsel/therapy and guidance to individuals, couples, and/or families who are dealing with issues that affect them mentally, emotionally, physically, and/or spiritually. I like to help clients determine why they are experiencing their life challenges and develop goals and actions to resolve the issues they are facing. I specialize in working with adolescents, adults, couples, and families. I also work with clients who may be struggling with depression, anxiety, PTSD, adjustment struggles, and grief. The techniques I most often use are rooted in CBT, The Gottman Method, and Family Systems.

I understand that seeking help is not always easy. So the first thing I want to tell you is that I believe that therapy clients are some of the bravest people I have ever had the privilege of knowing. Coming to discuss personal things with someone you've never before met is brave. I realize that you might not feel brave or strong when you seek my help, but I hope to have the chance to help you feel those things. There are several reasons why people seek counseling including relationship issues, depression, anxiety, and fear. Unprocessed trauma is often at the root and can feel like it invades every aspect of life.

My ideal client is one who knows they need to make changes and are willing to do the work of therapy. My practice is specialized to help those with OCD, anxiety, and related disorders but I am also a gender therapist. My office is a safe space where you can be you.

Tony is a Licensed Professional Counselor who has extensive experience treating both first responders and military personnel and their dependents for trauma-related issues as well as a host of other concerns. Tony and his family reside in West Knoxville and he is well versed in the Tennessee culture having been raised in East Tennessee. In addition to an M.A. in Clinical Mental Health Counseling, Tony earned a Master of Divinity and served for over 15 years in the pastoral setting. From his broad academic and experiential background he brings to the clinical setting a wealth of wisdom and skill with a unique perspective.
