I believe human beings are naturally inclined towards health & growth, and that we all encounter unique challenges on our paths of wellness. Whether a transition, unexpected event, interpersonal dynamic, circumstance, or an acute/chronic concern is interrupting your sense of balance and vitality, I will provide an open and caring space for you to explore, seek meaning and clarity, and move in a direction that works best for you. I approach therapy in a collaborative, relational way to support healing and promote wholeness. I draw from various approaches in my work, including somatic, gestalt, interpersonal, narrative, & CBT/DBT.

Wellness is more than an absence of problems; it is an experience of living life to the fullest. Recognizing that the resources for healing and negotiating interpersonal conflicts already exist within us, I rely on a sensitive understanding of each individual and the unique abilities they can further develop to achieve their goals.

Perhaps you’re down or anxious. Maybe you’re unsure about the future of a relationship or you feel as though you aren’t living the life you were meant to lead. Perhaps you’re thinking that something is getting in the way of your ability to function at work or other environments that are important to you. Life can be challenging – whether the challenges are sudden and unexpected or build up over the course of years. In sessions I promote behavioral transformation through collaborative efforts and solution-focused interventions to help you get back on track, identify and achieve your goals, and reach your greatest potential.

Not everything that is faced can be changed. But nothing can be changed until it is faced (James Baldwin). I currently have limited availability for new clients who struggle with different types of anxiety. I offer an innovative approach to treatment, known as virtual reality exposure therapy, to treat phobias (e.g., fear of flying, driving, heights, public speaking, germs, needles, small spaces), other forms of anxiety (e.g., social and test-taking anxieties) and stress reactions. Length of treatment can range from 6-12 sessions and you can practice relaxation and techniques from your home, in between sessions.

Struggling with OCD, anxiety, body-focused repetitive behaviors, or mood-related challenges can be scary to navigate on your own and can get in the way of the life you want to live. I work with people to provide specialized treatment and education to learn what's holding you back from a fulfilling and meaningful life. Together in a compassionate and non-judgmental space, we will work to identify how the thoughts and stories you have about yourself and life get in your way, how to make room for human experiences in the present moment, and how to act in the service of your values.

I am an intuitive trauma therapist specializing in the treatment of first responder, military and relational trauma. The treatment I provide is survivor-led and trauma informed. As the wife of a combat veteran, I have endured the endless gaps in a broken system that our soldiers and first responders with PTSD face. Our family’s fight to overcome PTSD and our fight to compensate for the gaps in a flawed system now serves to light the path I follow in working with veterans, first responders and relational trauma survivors in my practice. I am passionate about my work as a healer and I wholeheartedly believe in the power of healing.

I can see any client in Maine and NH via teletherapy but I am not credentialed with insurance companies in Maine, only NH. I help guide my clients to understand how their upbringing, worldview, culture, personality, and view of self affect how they are feeling, behaving, and thinking currently. One goal of mine is to help my clients maximize their wellbeing by better understanding themselves through the use of coping tools like mindfulness to slow and calm themselves enough to be able to assess their own thoughts and emotions in the moment so as to minimize regrets while reducing mood and behavioral symptoms.

My ideal client would be one who is willing to put in the effort it takes to achieve a healthy and happy mental status. Not every population I see has this mindset. I believe that by building trust and rapport as well as by the client seeing their own progress, the motivation to reach their personal goals will increase. I have worked with patients as young as 2 and as old as 72 with varying issues. Although I am trained to work with most populations and feel comfortable doing so, my specialty lies with those suffering from anxiety.
