I provide therapy for infants, children up to age 12, adults 18+, & pregnant/expecting/perinatal folks. Most of my clients are struggling with stress, anxiety, depression, emotion regulation, parenting, ADHD, & trauma related to their relationships or family. In addition, I provide: parent support, Circle of Security Parenting group facilitation a few times a year, & consultation for early learning centers & other providers & therapists. Uniquely, I provide home visiting mental health services for the perinatal/0-6 age group.

My passion is helping clients to overcome barriers to living their best life by bringing out their inner strength, using therapy for insight, self-exploration, healing, and personal growth. My theoretical approach is eclectic and relational. Together we can explore how your personal history and learned habits may influence your emotions, coping patterns, and behaviors,- ultimately affecting your sense of self for the better.

I work with individuals and families and I specialize in working with geeks, gamers, and professionals in the tech industry. We can work together to find the tools and strength that you need to create positive change. For many of my clients I focus on help with social skill growth, anxiety, depression, autism spectrum disorders, ADHD, and communication. At this time I am only providing teletherapy services and not in-person services.

My goal is to help rehabilitate and uplift 1,000 people through therapeutic treatment, online psychoeducation, and my workbooks. Yogananda said it best, “A person who has reformed themselves will reform thousands.” Currently, I am working in private practice treating kids as young as 8 to adult clients for trauma, depression, anxiety, and interpersonal issues. I use many modalities in treatment including CBT, DBT, attachment theory, interpersonal outcomes method, boundaries, mindfulness, meditation, art therapy, and lifespan integration.

I am a Licensed Marriage and family Therapist (LMFT) with a Master's Degree in Human Development and Family Studies. I have worked with individuals, couples, children and families for over 20 years in private practice and other settings. I offer a variety of treatment options including play therapy, sand tray therapy, mindfulness practices and EMDR.

We are all authors to our own stories, and experts in our own lives. When our stories are silenced, harmed, or rejected, this can affect our lives and identities in many ways. It takes immense bravery to let a stranger look past the cover of your story, and you deserve a space where the chapters you wish to process will be handled with respect and care. Licensed Mental Health Counseling Intern with 5 years of social work experience working with children, adolescents, and adults. Treatment specialties include trauma, suicidal ideation, and anxiety. I have practiced behavioral health using evidence-based strategies such as cognitive behavioral therapy and play therapy interventions. Children learn through play, Play therapy interventions provide children a way to express their feelings and overcome trauma through a natural self healing process. I assist adolescents and adults in learning healthy coping skills and recognizing restrictive habits and patterns.

I'm not sure that I have an "ideal client". I am someone who is immensely curious about the human mind, who loves a challenge, and who always wants to help. I work with anyone and everyone and I'm always looking to experience something new! I am experienced in areas such as criminal justice issues, anger management, self-harm, suicidal ideation, homicidal ideation, trauma, addictions, mood disorders, personality disorders, anxiety, maternal issues, family issues, and more. I have worked in crisis stabilization, corrections, and residential trauma treatment, allowing me to develop a very well-rounded and diverse clinical background.

Emotions can be both wonderful and scary. Feeling alone in a crowd, or feeling crowded when alone, can happen to anyone. We may ask ourselves: "What am I afraid of?", "Why am I angry?", "Why did I just do that?", or "Why is this happening?" We may also tell ourselves, "I don't deserve this.", "I always mess things up.", or "No one can help me." If you can relate to these types of questions or statements, I may be able to help.

Micaela is a passionate, empathetic therapist whose approach is based in collaboration, humor, and the therapeutic relationship. As a multi-racial, cis-gender woman, and AuDHD human, Micaela strives to utilize her privilege to advocate for changes in oppressive systems while also understanding the difficulties one can face. Micaela understands the importance of tackling the intersectional identities of those with whom she works. She strives to practice therapy in a compassionate manner and to practice critical self-awareness, through eliciting feedback throughout the therapeutic process.

My approach to counseling is through the lens of trauma which allows me to be empathetic to the various life events that my clients have experienced and how those events shape their worldview and how they navigate it. I have experience working with clients ages 4-20+ who have experienced physical and sexual abuse, as well as those struggling with trauma, anxiety, depression, relationship issues, shame, guilt, and so much more. I have also facilitated teen support groups and parenting support groups for mothers with newborns.

I know life is complicated and you would not be seeking therapy if you were not in one of those complicated moments in life, whether it be about a relationship with your spouse, your child or simply with yourself. My goal is to help you find a way to navigate those muddy waters and to make life not quite so rocky. I personally have a passion for parents and kids. I have worked in the field of child welfare and adoption and have seen the impact trauma has on the young and the old. I recognize how early childhood trauma impacts an individual throughout their life and impacts all relationships.

While open to working with all individuals ages 12 and older, I particularly enjoy working with adolescents and young adults; seeing how self-exploration and skill-building in such formative years can improve relationships, school performance, self-efficacy and overall mental health is truly amazing to see.

I am an insight based therapist and believe that so much of therapy is about connecting important dots and understanding how they inform our own origin stories. I honor the therapeutic relationship and what it means to support clients at their pace as they work through their own therapeutic process. My goal is to provide a space for people where they can more deeply understand themselves and the relationships around them; understand how the various spheres of influence (e.g., family or origin, religious upbringing) can shape our thoughts/beliefs in the present, as well as gain clarity on the direction they want to go in the future.
