We work collaboratively with the client, and with others within their support system, to help promote a healthy environment for the personal growth and development of every tween, teen, and young adult within our practice.

I have over 15 years of experience working in the mental health field. I have worked in a variety of settings including private practice, residential, outpatient, in-home, and addictions. There are various times in our lives that are challenging and taking the first step to asks for help can feel overwhelming. I have experience working with individuals, and couples ranging in age from preteen to adulthood in many areas of need such as depression, mood instability, substance use, anxiety, history of trauma, and family/relationships conflicts.

Kenyetta currently provides individual, couples, and family therapy, with an extensive history working with school-aged children (preteen ages 9-12), adolescent and young (ages 13-21) and older adults. Kenyetta has worked with varying mental illnesses and life adjustment issues, and has worked in many different roles and settings; to include as an Intensive In-Home Counselor but mostly in private mental health agencies where she worked in the capacity of Clinical Director and Outpatient Therapist for multiple years.

Hi, my name is Melody (she/her). I am a licensed social worker in MD, DC, and VA. I have experience working with people across the lifespan and with issues related to parenting, trauma, identity confusion, anxiety, depression, LGBTQIA+, and life changes. My goal as a therapist is to provide an authentic and nonjudgmental space for ALL people. I believe that having a safe space to explore thoughts and emotions is essential for healing and resilience.

We at WFP are a multi-disciplinary group comprised of clinicians who are well-versed in many different treatment modalities. As a group we include licensed nurse practitioners, psychologists, clinical social workers and professional counselors. Our training perspectives may vary, but we are united by an abiding interest in providing state-of-the-art psychological evaluations and treatment for children, adults and families in the Richmond, Virginia community.

I am passionate about supporting clients experiencing life transitions and serious mental health challenges in understanding their inner experience, navigating their trauma, and celebrating and reinforcing their strengths with a collaborative approach. I particularly enjoy working with teenagers, young adults, and families, folks with expansive experiences of gender and sexuality, neurodiversity, and those with histories of housing instability, complex trauma, and dissociative symptoms.

When everyday life gets you down, sometimes asking for help can be the hardest. I see therapy as a journey that we take together; providing trauma inform care, CBT, DBT, psychodynamic, substance abuse treatment, and support for growth and change.
