I offer counseling and psychotherapy to individuals and families. I have worked with a wide range of issues and people in a variety of settings. My therapeutic approach may differ somewhat with each client depending on their personality and what is agreed upon in our initial setting. I lean toward the client centered approach which allows the client to pace the sessions with what they are most comfortable dealing with first. Depending on the needs of the client I often focus on interpersonal interactions, cognitive change and behavioral techniques. The approach is a collaborative decision discussed during the initial session.

I am a Licensed Professional Counselor in Erie, Pennsylvania. I work with individuals of all ages including children, adolescents and adults. My approach to therapy is prescriptive eclectic with extensive training in Anxiety, Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Play Therapy. I specialize in treating a variety of issues related to stress, career/life balance issues, trauma, anxiety, grief and loss, depression, and adoption related issues. In addition, I have served for 8 years as Board Member for the Pennsylvania Association for Play Therapy.

I am here to counsel people who want to feel happier more content or to reach their goals. Some common problems are depression, substance abuse or dependence, anxiety, relationship, anger, bi polar, psychosis and schizophrenia, and family problems. Counseling supports the client to discuss and understand ones issues, needs, style, while developing insight and learning new skills. Most issues can improve through individual or family counseling. We will work together to improve your; emotional health, problem solving and goal setting. Having a counselor who listens and hears what you are going through can help you move past your stuck point.

With almost twenty years working in human services, I have dedicated my career to working with adolescents, teens, and adults experiencing a variety of mental health challenges, including family conflict, relationship issues, anxiety, stress, trauma, PTSD, depression, grief and loss, co-occurring issues, domestic/family violence, childhood trauma, self-esteem issues, and self-harm.

I don't believe there is such a thing as an "ideal client." I enjoy the challenge of each individual and assisting them in reaching their goals and living life at their greatest potential. I see each client as a puzzle that we are going to work together to solve. Clients can address goals like needing direction in their career or needing coping strategies for addressing depression both are equally important and something I am ready to pair with them and accomplish.
