My ideal client is one who does not yet recognize the extent of their power and choices available to them. One who has a sense of humor and is ready to try out new ways of being, trying on new ways of seeing themselves and the world.

As part of my counseling, I work with students and professionals who want to try modern therapy. Many of my clients want to overcome the stress of significant life changes that have challenged their beliefs about themselves and others. I emphasize choice and collaboration over "knowing what is best for you." I enjoy working with individuals that struggle with indecisiveness, especially when it comes to overthinking what others might think of you. I work well with clients that would like to how to understand their inner critic and respond to those beliefs about whether you are "worth it" a helpful manner.

Offer client focused approach to help persons find their resilience again through use of technique, compassion, identifying patterns which contribute to the difficulties and establishing healthier ones. Focus on positive coping skills, problem solving, goal setting and stress management. Experienced with anxiety/depression, trauma, family issues, work related stress, relationship interactions, addiction and mental health difficulties, grief and loss. I have worked in two federally qualified health centers using integrated approaches to assist people in reaching better health outcomes and managing chronic conditions.

I am a therapist of 30 years, who enjoys assisting people develop insight and practical strategies to improve the quality of their relationship with themselves and with those they spend majority of their time with. I have worked with children, adolescents , adults, couples , families and groups and can adapt my methods to meet many needs. I provide other professionals supervision and training to enhance client care. I am equipped to assist you with trauma, lossand depression. I have raised a family of my own, lived rurally, in cities and internationally enabling me to develop a broad understanding of our universal human condition.

Some of us come with a desire to end deep emotional suffering, others to resolve issues in life whether it is work/school related, family dynamics, or difficulties with interpersonal relationships. Others turn to therapy out of wanting to have a deeper understanding of ourselves and our engagement in repetitive behaviors and viscous cycles that keep us stuck in old patterns, “dysfunctional comfort”.

Having completed my degree from the State University of New York at Albany in 1999, I now work as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with a wealth of experience in individual and group psychotherapy, program development, management, and clinical supervision. My areas of interest include the use of technology in social work and implementing a strength-based approach toward recovery. I utilize Cognitive Behavioral Techniques to facilitate a shift toward more realistic thinking patterns.
