Hello! My name is Allie, and I am a professional counselor. I decided to become a counselor because I enjoy being a support system. I have worked in partial care transitional housing facilities and have an extensive background in providing outpatient counseling services. I use a trauma-informed, holistic, and strengths-based approach with all my clients. I also commonly use CBT, MI, expressive therapy, and solution-focused strategies in sessions. Most recently, I was trained in TF-CBT by the CARES institute for adolescent survivors of abuse.

It is hard to say what my ideal client is because I believe that I am capable of working with various types of people and that each person is unique. Even with a "challenging" client, I have learned a lot and found value in the work. With that being said, my ideal client has a history of trauma that has impacted their ability to connect with others and themselves. They are struggling with body image, intrusive thoughts, and anxiety about how others are perceiving them. They want to be empowered to advocate for themselves when necessary and create a wellness routine that serves as a preventative measure for mental health problems.

My Ideal client would be someone willing to put in the work to achieve their goals. My ideal client may be struggling with self-esteem, body image, or relationship issues. They may be in a relationship that contributes to their low self-esteem and want to find the strength and confidence they need in order to leave it behind.

I have been in private practice in Westfield since 1995 with an emphasis on adolescents and adults in need of help coping with life's stressors. These stressors include, but are certainly not limited to depression and anxiety, developmental issues,school anxiety and school refusal, women's issues, parenting difficulties and social issues to name a few. Women in particular often cope with a great deal of stress related to work, family,loss and from time to time, serious illness. These strains can become overwhelming and coping may become difficult and sometimes impossible to do alone.

Our thoughts, feelings, and our daily life can be overwhelming at times, I help people navigate through those difficult periods. I offer a warm and supportive place to talk about life's challenges, gain insight into one's thoughts and actions, and learn how to cope and solve problems. I have years of experience working with clients challenged with anxiety, depression, grief/loss, martial and family conflict, eating disorders, low self-esteem, school avoidance, women's issues, and parental support.

I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with over 15 years of experience in the field. I have worked in hospital settings such as inpatient psych, outpatient mental health, juvenile drug programs and in the public school system on a child study team. My areas of expertise include working with children, adolescents, and adults, ages 7 and up, and their families on a variety of issues. Some of these issues include but are not limited to anxiety, ADHD, depression, mood disorders, learning disabilities, behavioral issues, school issues, family conflicts and relationship issues, as well as many other life stressors that can affect us.
