My name is Patricia M. Green and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with over 35 years of experience with young children, adolescents, adults and families. My Master's Degree in Social Work is from Rutgers University. I specialize in helping individuals, children and families impacted by trauma, depression, abuse/neglect, domestic violence, behavioral challenges, grief/loss, and various disabilities including ADHD, Autism, and Multiple Disabilities. I am Trauma-Focused Trained. I am behaviorally based so clients often learn strategies in sessions to practice, explore and carry over in their daily lives.

My ideal client is actively contemplating making changes in their life. They are prepared to discuss, explore, and process their trauma history and to find meaning in their experiences. They are able to work towards identifying how they would like to see their quality of life change (for example, reduce and better manage anxiety) and are prepared to take the necessary steps to do so. Additionally, the client can tolerate being challenged when their thinking or behaviors are inconsistent with their goals.

I have 23 years of training and experience working with adults who struggle with low self-esteem, imposter syndrome, anxiety, depression, bipolar, and anger. I'm also very experienced with clients working on transitions such as going to college, new job, marriage, starting a family, a divorce, or coping with a past or recent trauma. I've worked for many years in drug treatment too. I think clients are looking for a way to gain insight and awareness of how challenges effect their thinking, and want to learn new skills to improve how they feel and function in the world.

My ideal client is internally motivated and desires emotional balance from concerns such as anxiety, depression, impaired self-esteem, trauma, and interpersonal conflict. They arrive to treatment with goals in mind, and will actively work to experience relief of distressing symptoms.

I love to help others. It has been my passion ever since I was a teenager. I want to be a positive support and teach others how to be the best version of themselves. It is so rewarding to be part of another person's journey and see them accomplish their goals. I also want to be the major point of support for someone that I wish I had and needed when I was younger.

I am a Licensed Social Worker with a passion for decreasing the stigma surrounding mental health and promoting the health and well being of my clients. For my undergraduate degree, I moved from Central Jersey (Yes! It exists!) to South Jersey to attend Stockton University. I received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Social Work with a Minor in Behavioral Neuroscience from Stockton, and then moved on to attend graduate school in Philadelphia. My ideal client is a young adult under the age of 35 who may have difficulty with anxiety, depression, self-esteem, adjusting to new circumstances, stress, family strain, relationship issues, and cultural stress.

My ideal client is someone who understands the areas of their life that need improvement. They have an idea of potential treatment goals for therapy and is open to the process. Additionally, they believe there are many ways to address previous traumas and can identify preferences for treatment. For example, a client who is open to incorporating journaling, meditation, or other holistic practices in addition to traditional talk therapy. My ideal client intentionally commits to the therapeutic process and is open to collaboration in the therapeutic space.

My ideal client would be willing to work with me systemically, meaning someone willing to look beyond themselves and think, “Why is this happening?” instead of just thinking they are the problem. For example, if someone is coming in to work on depression and anxiety, my ideal client would be willing to explore the underlying issues contributing to the depression and anxiety instead of someone who is only looking for coping skills and such.
