Hello, my is Jessie Cockerham, LCSWA. I have been a social worker for the past 6 years, where I have worked with teenagers, young adults, adults, and with those coming to end of life. I graduated from the only joint master program in the country between UNCG and A&T. In my experience I have worked with people who are chronically suicidal, those with chronic pain, people with anxiety and depression, people who struggle with varying types of trauma, those struggling with mood disorders, those struggling with dissociation, and people who have depression and anxiety.

I am a Wake Forest University graduate intern at The Calming Center of Mount Airy. I have experience working with children and adolescents. I am interested in working with those who have or are currently experiencing concerns with substance use/misuse. I truly believe and have witnessed that change and growth are not just possible but probable.

I concentrate on improving people's self-efficacy, the belief that one is able and capable.

Jennifer enjoys working with all ages but specializes in working with children (10 and older), adolescents, and their families. Jennifer’s experience as a school counselor makes her especially helpful for those children and families experiencing difficulty within the school or with behavioral-educational issues. Jennifer also works with adults during difficult life transitions. Jennifer sees clients struggling with depression, anxiety, anger, life changes, family stressors, behavioral challenges, and ADHD.
