I am at my best when helping people work through issues associated with grief, depression, anxiety, addiction, as well as marriage and relationship struggles. Working through some of the more uniquely modern struggles, such as screen and pornography addiction is also a focus of my practice. I also love pre-marital counseling.

I have worked with children, adolescents, and adults in a variety of practice settings over the past 20 years. My primary area of interest and training is working with children under the age of 10 dealing with issues of anxiety, depression, trauma, abuse, autism, developmental delay, divorce, grief, medical issues, behavioral problems, and more. I believe children have limitless potential for growth and they have an innate capacity for resiliency. I also believe that parents and primary caregivers play a critical role in a child's recovery and a joint approach to working with children is essential to healing.

I am a skilled therapist with 29 years of experience who specializes in anxiety and body image issues. I also assist individuals with stress, depression, coping with grief and loss, anger management, motivation, self esteem and other concerns. I believe in treating everyone with respect, sensitivity, and compassion. I will create a treatment plan to meet your unique and specific needs. Taking the first step to seeking a more fulfilling and happier life takes courage. I am here to support you in that process.

Lauren received her B.S. in Psychology in 2006 and M.S. in Counseling in 2011 from William Carey University. She is very passionate about working with individuals, children/adolescents, and families to improve relationships and quality of life. Lauren is trained in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Aggression Replacement Training (ART), Collaborative Problem Solving(CPS), the Adolescent Community Reinforcement Approach (ACRA), and has training in being an Adoptions Competent Counselor.

My integrative approach to therapy is tailored to meet the unique and specific needs of each client. This therapeutic style helps clients explore core beliefs about themselves and facilitates growth towards inner strength and resilience. I create space for clients to believe and trust in themselves, and help clients recognize how they respond to internal and external stressors while they navigate feelings of anxiety, depression, and/or childhood wounds

Interactive Therapies began in order to serve the needs of children and families' behavioral, emotional, and other psychological challenges. I offer interactive, creative, and innovative approaches to many of the challenging issues facing families and their children here in North Mississippi. I am passionate about involving caregivers in the therapeutic process and facilitating change by helping all participates feel validated and understood.
