Childhood, parenting, and balancing family life with careers and other obligations is hard! I love working with children, teens, and adults who want to explore and grow to overcome challenges and live their best lives.

I think all of us could use a little help at one time or another. Difficult situations can get the better of us, and we need someone to help us remember who we are, figure out our options, develop new skills, and make changes that support our growth. Whether I am working with an individual, couple, or family, I see my role as helping clients remember their strengths and capabilities, and find ways to work with the people they care about to create solutions.

My experience and educational background are directly related and have provided me with a well-rounded background in Therapy. I am a Military veteran with 30 plus years of experience working with patients in psychiatric hospitals, state mental health facilities, Illinois Department of Corrections, and in private practice. I am currently licensed to practice in Illinois, Kansas and Georgia. I also provide Tele-health service to Military members overseas (OCONUS).

Brooke believes in the importance of clients being able to discover and nourish the meaning of their own story. Having a safe place to share one’s story, and work through life events is vital to the client/client’s experience. Brooke works hard to provide a space where children, adults, and families feel heard and acknowledged.

Life can be difficult at times and it can be hard to deal with our struggles on our own. There is hope and I can help you find peace and happiness I know you deserve. My goal is to provide a safe, open environment where you can process your struggles and be genuinely heard. I believe therapy to be a collaborative process where my clients rewrite the negative thoughts, feelings, and stories they have about themselves and are empowered to create new, positive life experiences.

Not all clients arrive to therapy with the same issues or the same rooting point, so therapy needs to be unique to each individual. Hello. My name is Rebecca Beus and I’m a Therapist at WellSpring Psychotherapy. Emotional distress can be deeply painful. Whether it is you…yourself coping with emotional pain or if you are dealing with a loved one who is in emotional distress. My goal is to allow a safe space for my clients to ventilate this pain and be truly heard without judgement. I help kids, teens and adults learn to be kinder to themselves. Most of my clients come to my office having spent years trying to be perfect, talking negatively to themselves and feeling loads of shame. Perhaps they suspect they have anxiety, depression or PTSD from some of the things they have been through. I offer diagnostic assessment services for persons of all ages, with an emphasis on developmental disorders such as autism spectrum disorder, attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder, and learning disorders. I also offer empirically supported cognitive behavioral therapies (CBT) for a variety of psychological difficulties. For adult clients I offer prolonged exposure therapy for PTSD and CBT for pain management. For children and youth I offer CBT for a wide range of mental health and behavioral problems.

Anxiety, depression, & trauma require more than bubble baths. Sometimes we need more support. I am a professional who believes in healing within a therapeutic relationship where individuals feel deeply heard. Young people and adults who are ready to do more than survive but thrive will find a partner in me. I have experience counseling and collaborating in school systems, community mental health, and nonprofits. You don't need to be told what to do. You need a professional who will validate your experience, without judgement, and help you grow into your highest and truest self.

Trauma is common and over half of all people will have experienced at least one traumatic event in their lifetime. It does not have to continue to disrupt life. My mission is to help people find their power again and move past their trauma so they can live their best life in accordance with their values and goals and fully live and enjoy their lives. I use trauma informed care first and foremost along with a blend of other modalities in order to help clients find their own strength in managing their symptoms, learning self-compassion, and regaining their internal locus of control.

I focus on trauma initially because what I have found in over 6 years of work as a trauma therapist, is that so much of our present concerns and limitations is rooted in trauma exposure and history. This lends itself to unhealthy patterns of avoidance, hypervigilance/hyperarousal, disturbance in mood and cognitions. and being inundated with intrusions and flashbacks. Many patients that have struggled with years with anxiety and or depressive episodes really have suffered from trauma that has not yet been dealt with. I have experience working with a variety of struggles such as trauma and abuse, anxiety, adjustment/transitions in life, attachment between child and parent(s), infertility/women’s difficulties, depression and relational difficulties within families and/or couples. This is why I am excited to join you mind-to-mind, heart-to-heart, and face-to-face as you develop more into the monumental person that you are. As you well know, our past has a direct influence on our present circumstances and view of self. Improving in life may not be easy and will require working through past hurts, disappointments, regrets, flawed views of self, and broken or failed relationships.

I work one-on-one with individuals from childhood through adulthood who need support in all areas of their life such as anxiety, depression, behavioral/emotional management, school-related concerns, relationship issues, life stresses, and adjustments in different stages of life.
