Our practice includes a spectrum of counseling professionals who work with clients that are experiencing anxiety or depression that interferes with life, healing from loss, navigating through difficult life transitions or changes, and managing their own behaviors that get in the way of who they want to be.

Helping restore a sense of balance and self-worth to my client’s lives is my passion. My experience has spanned over 14 years, with a strong foundation in child and adolescent pathology. My philosophy is to work collaboratively in goal development and attainment, to highlight the connection among faulty thinking, feelings, and ineffective coping patterns and promote healthy changes. Through empowerment to challenge these factors, comes a renewed sense of confidence, strengths, and effective skills to manage life’s stressors and relationships.

Our life's work is helping clients achieve a better sense of self and happiness...more recently we've recognized that without good mental health providers, finding this balance in life can be more difficult and stressful. As a result, we tend toward an Integrative approach and help our clients transform into the people they want to be. We see each client as an individual with many parts to their identity. Utilizing a holistic and systemic approach we help clients reintegrate the parts of themselves to function better as individuals and within their systems. Our focus tends toward a systems based approach using behavior methods.

As a seasoned Clinical Psychologist and owner of Libertyville Counseling Group, I appreciate the courage it takes to seek out help to cope with some of life's most difficult challenges. Whether you are facing a new stress in life or coping with a long term emotional or relationship problem, we have the training, skills, education, professionalism, and empathy to help! Our office is warm and relaxing, located in a beautiful area in the northwest part of Libertyville, Illinois. We are open to all ages, providing services to individuals, families, and couples.

As a therapist I am trained to assist others on their journey to growth and healing.

I specialize in working with adolescents, young adults, and families. I approach therapy with an openness and a sense-of-humor that allows clients the space to grow in a meaningful and intentional way. I hold the belief that every human experiences pain and that every human is deserving of a meaningful life. I promote a safe non-judgmental environment while working with clients.

I am a clinical psychologist focused on helping kids, teens, and families navigate challenges related to ADHD, social relationships, difficult emotions, and stress. I believe that with the right supportive environment of empathy, patience, and guidance, we can all grow through these challenges and emerge stronger than before. I offer therapy and testing services to facilitate this process of growth. I am currently providing these services remotely through telehealth, and I am able to offer remote testing for some presenting concerns, such as ADHD, emotional functioning, and disruptive behaviors.

When you or your child/teen is struggling, you want strategies to combat challenges NOW. At North Shore Family Services, we empower kids, teens, and adults to learn tools, so they can succeed independently. Our goal is for children, teens, adults, parents, and couples to learn skills to be successful with school, peers, work, and family- long after therapy ends. We assist with IEP and 504 plans to help our children/teen clients succeed where they spend most of their day- out of their parents' sight. Parents are our partners in helping kids and teens learn life skills.

In sessions, Mercedes creates a safe space for clients to look at and wrestle with their self-limiting beliefs and behaviors due to self-doubt, shame, faith and trust issues that lead to taking responsibility for their lives. Mercedes believes in a treatment philosophy that includes a holistic approach tailored to employ practical and results-oriented treatments.

By answering this questions, clients/patients identify and eventually change self-defeating habits, beliefs, and patterns caused by trauma, substance abuse/addiction, and chronic stress. Mark Branson is a Licensed Social Worker in Illinois. He has a B.A. in Psychology from the University of Iowa and an MSW from Aurora University. Mark offers a person-centered approach that incorporates cognitive behavioral therapy and dialectical behavioral therapy to help people who experience challenges ranging from anxiety to depression to daily stressors that are interfering with their happiness and the actualization of their potential. Mark utilizes a variety of modalities to help people struggling with a great number of mental health challenges, including anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, eating disorders, and addictions.

Desarae Munoz is a Licensed Social Worker in Illinois. Desarae (you can call her Desi for short! ) has worked with children since she was 12 years old. Desarae has helped raise her brothers and sister, so she is comfortable working with all ages. She enjoys helping people work on their communication skills and find resources. Desarae has experience in behavioral health, so she is familiar with psychosis, etc. She has also worked with geriatric clients so she would say she is very diverse. Ron Villejo is a clinician, who has been practicing since 1981. He graduated from Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine in Chicago with a PhD in clinical psychology. Ron believes in understanding the underlying reasons for one's mental health struggles, which may be described as psychodynamic or insight-oriented therapy. At the same time, it's also important to look at practical ways to feel better, such as reframing how one looks at these struggles, part of a cognitive-behavioral approach.

Danny Ross is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in Illinois who has been practicing since 2014. He received both his undergraduate and Graduate Degree in Social Work from New Mexico Highland University with a clinical concentration in 2014. Danny has worked with children (8-12), adolescents (12-17), and adults (18+). Most of his experience has been dealing with addictions, anxiety, depression, abuse and/or neglect, domestic violence, behavioral problems, anger, self-esteem, self-worth, stress, communications, family issues, Trauma/PTSD, veteran issues and first responder issues.

Vicki Bolina, PsyD, provides a safe space for anyone going through difficult situations or just wanting to improve their mental health. She has experience in private practice, psychiatric hospitals, nursing homes, school systems, outpatient clinics, the prison system, among others. Dr. Bolina welcomes all ages into her office and specializes in anxiety, depression, and more.
