I'm a Licensed Professional Counselor in Denver, CO with over 20 years of experience helping pre-teens, adolescents, adults, couples, and families in a variety of settings, such as private practice, community mental health, and public & private schools. I focus on clients' strengths and past successes to help them build upon and develop new and effective solutions for how they operate in life.

Rachael currently has Tuesday early afternoon and every other Thursday afternoon availability for new clients utlizing insurance or private pay. As a Counselor, I am proud to have the privilege to step into the therapeutic space with a warm heart, playful spirit, and open mind. Having worked in a variety of settings over the past 10 years from school-based counseling to county-wide Crisis Response, I have witnessed the full spectrum of the human experience across the lifespan. Growing up, I always knew that I was different. Intuitive, creative, sensitive and emotional, I knew that I didn't fit the mold I was given but I could not understand why. As a therapist, I work with others who feel that they do not fit - those of use who have felt discomfort in ourselves, discomfort in our families, discomfort in our communities. I believe that in order to truly understand who we are and who we want to become, we must explore the experiences that we’ve had and look at the impact they have had on us. Once we understand what we have to work with, we are free to chose the best ways to move forward on the journey.

My ideal client grapples with societal norms, especially around gender and sexuality. They may feel torn between societal expectations and their true selves. Seeking a safe space to explore and redefine their narrative, their goal is authenticity and navigating relationship complexities. They're drawn to a therapeutic space rooted in empowerment, social justice, and positive psychology, aiming for a transformative journey to question societal constructs and embrace a fulfilling life.

Dr. Jeff Boscoe-Huffman and Dr. Scott Boscoe-Huffman treat children, adolescents, adults, and families. My focus has been on Anxiety and Mood Disorders and Autism Spectrum Disorders. I am particularly interested in problems that have been resistant to treatment - I'm helpful with difficult problems. I am happy to apply my clinical skills to a variety of areas, including panic attacks, obsessive-compulsive behaviors, social anxiety, generalized anxiety, mood problems and general problems in living.
