Lauren is passionate about mental health and counseling. She believes that the counseling process should be enjoyable, and that a client-centered approach and individualization is key to therapeutic growth. Lauren has helped adults, children & families learn to cope and grow through various life changes and difficulties. Lauren places importance on creating a judgement-free atmosphere, and holding space in which you can safely and openly share and explore thoughts and feelings.

I am passionate about working with families and their children. My goal is to help my clients identify what they can improve and guide them through achieving their personal goals, whether as an individual or a family unit. I thrive in working with teens and young adults who struggle with anxiety disorder, help my clients learn how to identify and engage in social and emotional life skills, and strongly encourages self-love and acceptance as a key tool in becoming a healthy, functioning individual. I apply cognitive approaches to engage clients in identifying root issues, processing those difficulties, and working through them.

I have been working in the mental health field since 2002. I have been nationally certified since 2004. I am EMDR certified, EMDRIA approved Consultant, and EMDR Trainer. I use a trauma-focused approach to treatment because it is a very holistic approach to care (body, mind, and emotional reactions to stress). I prefer to work with adolescents and adults in therapy services. I also offer consultation services for therapists and other mental health providers. I received my credential to be an EMDR trainier on 9/12/2023 and offer both online and in-person trainings.

As a therapist and person, I function from the core values of: collaboration, consent & curiosity. I have experience and enjoy working with clients from a wide variety of ethnicities, gender identities, body sizes, sexual orientations & religious backgrounds. I believe that shame often keeps us from addressing the deepest parts of ourselves and I work to ensure that each person I interact with feels safe enough to communicate openly & honestly, in order to move toward lasting, core healing.
