This means we'll work collaboratively to go beyond symptom relief, exploring practices for individual well-being that also support collective change. My work is rooted in many decades of contemplative practice and I have a special interest in Buddhist Psychology that often shows up in the therapy room.

We are in the midst of uncertain and trying times. Some of the feelings you are likely experiencing are fear, grief, frustration, confusion, isolation, and anxiety. The global trauma of the Coronavirus may be causing remnants of any previous trauma to resurface. It may also be rocking your sense of security and posing questions of life purpose and direction. And it is most assuredly adding to individual or family stress.

There are many times seeking therapy in the short-term can feel necessary to help navigate a crisis situation. And other times, it can be a longer process of self-exploration and growth. In either case, engaging in therapy is an act of hope and the bravest thing we can do is ask for help. I will meet you and your family where you are with compassion, and without judgement.

We all come with baggage. It makes us who we are and yet it can be so heavy. My idea of therapy's purpose is to help clients lighten their load. Everybody wants to make healthier choices, to find joy in life. How that is done is individual and to be discovered. I have interest in and respect for the differences in people's experience. I also have faith in each person's ability to find a path to wholeness. If you have experienced trauma, suffer from anxiety, depression, or other disturbances we can find the way to access your own inner healing power.

A strong interest in human nature and an insistent curiosity about life has led me to become a psychotherapist. I am committed to offer clients a safe environment for their explorations of their own lives in pursuit of a more satisfying existence. I utilize a variety of different therapeutic approaches based on each client’s individual needs. Whether you are looking for support through difficult life transitions, want to explore new areas of yourself, are a concerned parent needing help with a challenging home situation, or need a place for your child to deal with life’s challenges, I will do my best to assist you.

Finding safety and the conditions in which to explore all aspects of your experience are vital components in the therapeutic process. The introduction of art, play, and somatic therapies may provide additional ways to bring creativity to the exploration of the material at hand. I work with children and adults and I specialize in exploring and reconnecting to one's core self. Trauma, illness, and anxiety can disrupt this essential connection - it can be regained.

I provide integrative psychotherapy for adults, couples, teens and families. I incorporate empirically validated methods, including EMDR, CBT, DBT, and the Gottman method for couples and families. Your concerns are my focus as we work together to develop solutions. I offer parenting support, divorce support, and grief support for families. I am also uniquely experienced in working with families and individuals with special needs, especially youth and adults with ADHD and those on the Autism Spectrum.

This statement sums up one of the most important wishes that I have for my clients and supports the work that we will do together. It is my opinion that our beliefs about ourselves and the world are our most powerful tools for change (for good or ill) that we have. At your own pace, we will explore the ways that your beliefs affect your thoughts and feelings, and work toward your goals, both great and small.

As a therapist I believe I am here to create a safe container for us to honor your human experience in all of its messy, beautiful, and complicated parts. In our work together we will collaboratively identify and challenge the patterns, experiences, and narratives that no longer serve you, to create a space ripe for welcoming in your most favorite and aligned self. I have been working in Sonoma County with teens, adults, partners, and families for over 20 years and have recently joined the Quest Family Therapy team. With a collaborative and playful approach, I strive to support people to live more authentic lives and find their way to the change they are seeking, whether it is improving their mood, deepening their connection with themselves and loved ones, or finding and expressing their authentic selves. My work is strongly rooted in attachment theory, depth psychology, mindfulness, and somatic practices.

I support you in tracking ALIVENESS & empower in your full expression.  Along the way, I teach skills that strengthen your capacity to work with difficult emotions, the inner critic, & habitual impulses while staying connected to the present moment.

I believe the mind knows how to heal. Given the right conditions, our own wisdom guides us back to what makes us feel alive and whole. Therapy can be one of the conditions we need for healing. By becoming familiar with what blocks us and aligning with what we value and love, we begin to untangle the past and create the life we want.

My practice serves all ages and most psychological conditions. I use therapy methods that lead us right to your issues so you can achieve your therapy goals quickly and efficiently. We work together to establish your goals and involve others in your life if you so choose. Family issues and issues of childhood and adolescence are my focus though. I have considerable training in issues of all relationships and behavioral health concerns.
