As a first generation Middle Eastern therapist, I have had the privilege of working with clients from a wide variety of socioeconomic and cultural backgrounds, but what they've all had in common is the desire to feel stronger; whether they're battling social anxiety, depression, or PTSD my clients want to feel empowered and capable of living a better life, and my goal is to teach them the skills they need to overcome the barriers to wellness. Dr. Uguru utilizes cognitive and behavioral techniques from a cultural-relational perspective that builds skills, welcomes exploration, and celebrates you and communities' story. Her understanding of brain-based science allows for an inter-weaving of evidence based, neuropsychological knowledge into the therapeutic space.

I am a Licensed Marriage and Family therapist, and I enjoy working with individuals of all ages. I am trained Ketamine-Assisted psychotherapy as well as EMDR. I use an integrative/eclectic approach while drawing on different evidence based modalities depending on each persons unique needs. I work collaboratively with clients so they they feel empowered in their therapy journey and feel confident in reaching goals they set for themselves.

I am a bi-cultural, bilingual Spanish-Speaking Licensed Psychologist and Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist. I specialize in immigration evaluations and psychological assessments. I have an expertise in providing domestic violence and child abuse treatment, and treatment for victims of crime and witness of crime. I also have an expertise in the treatment of post traumatic stress, anxiety, depression and couples and family therapy. I am an experienced child abuse forensic interviewer and have conducted numerous child abuse evaluations and dependency investigations. I have served as an expert and fact witness during Dependency Court and Immigration Court Proceedings.

Often past experiences or current situations cause us to develop creative ways of surviving that don't function well. I work with folks on processing their present concerns while keeping an open door to looking at the past and dreams that inform, revealing the source of repeating patterns. I help people to transform their pain into new meaningful emotional experience.
