I am a Licensed Associate Counselor (LAC) in the state of New Jersey, and a national certified counselor (NCC). In addition, I am an advanced Nurtured Heart Approach® trainer. While working with children and their families, I utilize the Nurtured Heart Approach® as a vehicle to cultivate strong, healthy, positive relationships between children and their caregivers.

About Me: I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Clinical Alcohol and Drug Counselor (LCADC), and an Accredited Clinical Supervisor in NJ with over 20 years of experience working with adolescents, young adults, families, and couples. My work over the years, particularly with people struggling with addiction, has demonstrated how physical and emotional trauma can affect our well-being and how a holistic approach can offer long-lasting healing and transformation.

Life can sometimes feel and be very complicated. As a psychotherapist in private practice for 25 years, I work with adults, adolescents, families and couples. The way I approach working with people is to create a compassionate, intelligent, non-judgemental, therapeutic space where a person can feel safe, heard and understood. Hi! My name is Dr. Ed Callaghan. I have a Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology and am fully licensed in the state of New Jersey. I am a Founder of the Integrative Therapy Institute of NJ and it’s Director of Child Services. I specialize in working with preschool and school-age children as well as adolescents and adults. I am especially proficient at working with children with ADHD, Autism Spectrum Disorders, behavioral problems, and school-related difficulties--especially problems related to academics and poor drive/motivation. I am also VERY SUCCESSFUL at bridging conflictual relationships between children and their parents.

Better Days Therapy is a mental health service that provides counseling for adults, adolescents, children, and families. I work with individuals, groups and communities to improve mental health.
