I can help because I have over 25 years of experience in psychology but more than twice that as a caring human being striving to find my own way. I've worked in psychiatric hospitals, in prisons and in private practice, with people with all kinds of psychological difficulties including depression, anxiety and Schizophrenia. Equally important than any experience I might bring to the therapy session, I bring compassion, empathy and an understanding that we're all just doing the best we can.
Therapy is more than just a helpful process. It can be a life raft in a sea of uncertainty, doubt and/or depression. I believe that people are just trying to do the best they can every day, and that sometimes along the way we can get off course and find ourselves without any signs or direction. I can help you find that direction for yourself.
Coming to therapy or counseling takes courage and an openness to new experience that can be a bit challenging. By supporting you and communicating openly, I can help you through those difficult first sessions and feel better- sometimes even after the very first session.
