I am available to be of service to virtually anyone that is struggling to enjoy their lives, who feel that there are barriers standing in the way of reaching their goals and fulfilling their potential. Anxiety is a significant challenge and interferes with day-to-day life in many ways. These challenges may come from any number of situations—family, jobs, trauma (physical, sexual, or situational),  poor self-image, feelings of inadequacy, fear of any number of daily situations, and the horrible feeling of powerlessness. I have considerable experience working with individuals with substance abuse challenges.

I enjoy assisting clients in finding meaning, joy and connection in their lives. All of us have had painful and traumatic experiences. Modern life is very stressful, and sometimes we need guidance and support in how to cope with difficult circumstances we might find ourselves facing. I can offer a variety of methods to let go of the past and find clarity and peace in the present, and hope for the future. Meditation, mindfulness, guided imagery, and EMDR are some of the techniques I utilize most. I look forward to meeting and working with you!

Life brings us experiences which cause us stress, stretch our capacity to cope. We respond with depression and anxiety. We resort to ineffective behaviors such as substance use, attempting to maintain our stability. The impact on us can be devastating and we can spiral out of control, often resulting in a disruption in our relationships, ability to work, ability to manage tasks and affairs and our ability to find satisfaction or meaning in our lives. Using mindfulness based approaches and Internal Family Systems to remove blocking emotions and beliefs can help find balance and promote healing.

I have been in practice in New Mexico for 23 years, treating depression, anxiety, relationships, and life changes. I am continuing to do video and telephonic sessions for individuals. I like to use a listening, supportive stance with clients to help them feel comfortable in talking about their problems. Some of the techniques I use are mindfulness, regulating emotions, relationship skills, tolerating distress, and mind/body techniques. I believe that therapy works, and is worth the time, effort, and money you put into it.

I have a FEW openings for MEDiCAID clients. I really enjoy working with teens and young adults. I also work with adults of all ages. Most of my clients are working on resolving sexual orientation questions, gender identity concerns, low self-esteem, self-identity issues, depression, anxiety, and social fears, among other problems.
