Pursuit of Happiness provides counseling for pregnant women, children, and families with Traditional Medicaid Insurance. We offer in-home and telehealth counseling throughout Texas. All of our counselors practice trauma-informed counseling and have training in play and trauma techniques to help children and families heal and grow in a safe therapeutic space. Our counselors will come directly to you and meet with the you or your children in the home, school, or daycare depending on your schedule needs. Virtual counseling is also available.

As a Clinician, I work with a mixed population of children and adults, across a wide range of treatment modalities. My youngest client is 3 years old and my oldest is 53 years old. I feel called to work with individuals who have been exposed to traumatic events in their lives. Trauma therapy allows children to communicate, express feelings, modify behavior, develop problem-solving skills, and learn a variety of ways of relating to others. Dr. Ramirez works collaboratively with individuals to treat a wide range of issues including depression, anxiety, trauma disorders, and obsessive compulsive disorders, phase of life issues, marital or relational difficulties, among others. She completed her training in the Bay Area of California, and obtained her Psy.D. in Clinical Psychology at John F. Kennedy University in Pleasant Hill California. Dr. Ramirez relocated to El Paso to complete her doctoral training, and developed a deep appreciation for the rich culture and values of the El Paso community.
