As a feminist psychologist, I work with clients to collaboratively reach their goals. I have worked with a variety of clients across the gender and sexual identity spectrum, folks with disordered eating, and those in midst of big life transitions. Major areas of interest include identity development, interpersonal relations, anxiety/depression, and esteem.

People often come to see me when things are huge mess in their lives and they need a calm and safe space to sort it out. Help them get unstuck and move forward. About half of the people I see are teenagers (14+) who aren't really fond of anyone right now (I love those ones). And the other half are adults. You'll find me to be fairly informal as a person, direct, kind and real. I've been doing therapy since 2003 and it's what I would do even if work wasn't a thing. Issues range from trauma, depression, anxiety and addiction.

I strive to create a safe, nonjudgmental atmosphere for clients to explore their relationships, values, strengths, and changes they would like to make. I strongly believe that everyone is capable of persevering through life's challenges and making positive change, if given the proper tools and resources. I emphasize building upon underlying resilience I believe every person has, through education, skills, and evidence-based approaches. I am a direct communicator but have a casual approach, emphasize compassion, and appreciate humor in sessions.

The Encouragement Clinic is pleased to be able to provide therapy services from multiple clinicians. We serve all ages; individuals; families and group therapy. We offer in person at our Superior location; Walk and Talk therapy ;telehealth. Several providers are trained in Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART) which is a trauma intervention. We provide services for grief and loss. We offer therapy for maternal mental health. We are also working in partnership with the City of Superior and the Superior school district to provide therapy services in the Middle and High Schools.

My clinical approach is integrative and collaborative as all people are different. Mindfulness is at the core of all approaches I utilize in practice. I utilize Cognitive and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy to help clients build a base of skills to improve their quality of life including decreasing unhealthy coping mechanisms and building healthier relationships. I work with a variety of techniques with individuals who struggle with PTSD or Complex PTSD including Self-Compassion, Prolonged Exposure, and Somatic therapies. I provide tools for clients to practice in between sessions to help them progress toward their individual goals.

I provide a safe place for individuals and couples to work through feelings about relationships, life transitions and adjustments, grief and loss, health problems, workplace challenges, spirituality and recovery issues. I help people cultivate insight and coping tools to navigate life's struggles with more confidence and grace.

I enjoy working with children (ages 12 and up), adolescents, and adults. I have a passion for helping to make positive changes through developing healthy ways to navigate through life struggles and learn effective strategies to live a more balanced life. I have experience working with a variety of ages in a variety of settings; including outpatient, schools, college counseling centers, day treatment, and intensive residential treatment facilities.
