My name is Precious George. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (PC012479) in the state of Pennsylvania. I care about my client's well-beings and provide the tools they need, in order to seize the day and learn how to tackle even the most challenging circumstances. Psychotherapy is a professional relationship that involves lots of talking, however the content is explored through the lens of a theoretical orientation. There are a variety of theoretical orientations that include but are not limited to, dialectical behavior therapy, psychoanalysis, family systems, attachment theory, and cognitive behavior therapy.
My sessions focus on the use of the latter. Cognitive behavior therapy explores problems based on our thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. Therapy helps clients to identify their thought patterns, emotional responses, and behavioral reactions.
Thought patterns are examined to identify, challenge, and restructure irrational beliefs, to make them more objective and realistic. This can have the effect of improving overall mood, the ability to problem-solve, and demonstrate healthy behavioral reactions.
