Sharing one's thoughts and feelings with a complete stranger can seem awkward and bizarre. My goal early on in therapy is to make the experience feel as comfortable as possible by creating a space without judgement and aiming to understand you as a whole person, rather than simply a set of symptoms or a diagnosis. I believe that we all have the capacity to overcome life's many obstacles and live closer to our fullest potential. Although therapy is ultimately very serious, I use humor whenever possible so it doesn't feel like you're talking to a robot.
I have experience working with adults who struggled with anxiety, depression, grief, PTSD, substance use, bipolar disorder and schizophrenia. After working in a community mental health center, I learned a great deal about the role of medication and the importance of being an informed consumer of psychiatric services.
Whenever applicable or sought after by a client, I incorporate mindfulness, meditation, and bibliotherapy to complement more traditional methods of counseling. I am open to those facing existential crises or grappling with their spirituality (or lack thereof).

Groups
Various Wellness Groups
We believe that therapy can and should extend beyond the therapy room. We provide experiences for clients to go out into the community and practice the skills they've learned. If you sign up for a wellness event, you and a group will participate in an activity facilitated by one of our therapists. Afterwards, group members will have the opportunity to participate in a process group where they can discuss how they felt the activity went for them and how it felt to practice their new skills. Group activities include: Hiking, yoga, rock climbing, pottery, video games, board games, high ropes, team-building, and camping.
