Positive Directions--Center for Prev & Counseling's Groups
The Juggle Struggle: Women & Stress
We live in a stressful time, in a stressful area, and women are called upon to juggle multiple roles: mother, daughter, friend, breadwinner, volunteer. But just because we have a lot of stressors in our lives, doesn't mean we need to be beat up by the stress of juggling it all! Join us on Wednesday mornings and give yourself the gift of support: Share stories about what drives us crazy; Swap tips about what we've tried and what has helped; Learn new techniques to help us juggle; Practice using tools to feel a little better.
The Boomerang Generation: Parenting Adult Children
Just when you thought parenting would get easier, your child comes home from college and assumes the old "house rules" don't apply. Or, a child moves back in after college, graduate school or divorce, and you're not sure how to be flexible about household duties, finances, significant others, and all the new curveballs thrown your way! Even if your young adult children don't live with you, it's hard to know when (and how) to back off and let them manage their own lives. Join us for support from other parents who understand first-hand your experiences.
Crossing Paths
At Crossing Paths: Mental Health, Substance Use, and Vulnerability, learn more about how stress and vulnerability factors play a part in the development of mental health and substance use disorders and see how these elements often "cross paths." Also, build resiliency to prevent and manage stress when it emerges. Meets the 1st and 3rd Thursday of the month from 4-6pm. Fees billed to insurance. Call Angelina at 203-227-7644 to register!
