I believe that clients have inherent strengths and abilities to solve whatever presenting problem they’re faced with; sometimes life’s obstacles and challenges get in the way of one’s ability to tap into those strengths. I approach every client through a strength-based lens to empower and help clients develop a more positive/hopeful perspective about the presenting issue causing distress at that time. I utilize a collaborative approach, working with clients to achieve set goals they wish to achieve and depending on those goals, so does the modality of therapy (individual, couple, parents, or family).

Listed here are the variety of presenting problems I can help you, and/or your loved one, with in therapy: co-occurring disorders, trauma/abuse, marital/couple conflict, familial conflict, emotion regulation, coping skills development, LGBTQIA issues, mental health disorders (bipolar, depression, anxiety, ADHD), substance use disorders, and addiction issues.

I work with a team of clinicians at Positive Directions who work closely together and have a variety of specialty areas, including (but not limited to): substance abuse, mental health disorders, problem gambling, co-occurring disorders, self-esteem, anxiety, and depression.

Crossing Paths: Mental Health, SUD & Vulnerability

Do you or a loved one struggle with both mental health and substance use? Learn and explore more about how mental health disorders, substance use disorders, and vulnerability factors often "cross paths." In this group we will: provide support around mental health & substance use challenges, learn about the impact of vulnerability & stress on the development of co-occurring disorders, increase awareness of factors that impact one's vulnerability, and build resiliency to prevent and manage stress. This group begins October 3rd (1st & 3rd Thursday of the month). To register & learn more, please call or email us!
