My therapeutic orientation encourages me to see people as unique individuals who have particular strengths. While building on these strengths, we focus on issues in their past and current relationships that are causing difficulties. Within the context of an empathic and confidential relationship, psychological growth and comfort are possible.
I provide brief, problem-centered and long-term psychotherapy for adults. My work draws from psychoanalytic, cognitive-behavioral, and family systems approaches. University of Pennsylvania, BA in Psychology (1982); Northwestern University Department of Psychiatry & Behavioral Sciences, Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology (1990). Further training completed at Michael Reese Hospital & Medical Center (APA Internship) and The Family Institute of Chicago.
