I work with adults and adolescents presenting with a broad spectrum of concerns. These include, most notably depression and anxiety as well as trauma, PTSD, grief, inattention, eating issues, relationship issues, school issues, self esteem issues, adoption, sleep, and history of sexual and/or physical abuse. My therapeutic style is integrative: I draw from a variety of fields of psychology, including psychodynamic, relational, and cognitive-behavioral. Through therapy, we will work together to understand both the origins of presenting issues; clarifying why we act and feel the way we do, and why certain thought and behavioral patterns persist.
I have been in private practice helping adults and adolescents contend with a range of issues for the past 19 years. I earned my B.A. from Stanford University and my doctorate from DePaul University. I completed my doctoral internship at Northwestern, with a specialty in adolescents and young adults.
Upon completing my doctorate, I counseled students at Roosevelt University Counseling Center and also conducted therapy at a community hospital in Chicago. I opened a private practice in Chicago in 1998, working with adults and students from Northwestern University. I practiced in Chicago until 2015 when I moved to Seattle.
