I provide support as I counsel individuals, family members, and adolescents having difficulties and challenges with family conflicts, individual problems, marriage issues, work difficulties, problems with peers, memories of physical, sexual and/or emotional abuse. Counseling include life challenge issues such as teenaged pregnancy, anxiety/phobias, and depression. As a native-born speaker of Portuguese, I believe I would be uniquely qualified for working with individuals and families with a Portuguese background.

I seek to help individuals, couples and families build stronger and healthier relationships. The family system is complex and dynamic. There are many configurations and possibilities. I will work as hard as you to help you identify and break out of destructive patterns. I am a Ph.D. level Licensed Psychologist who has been in the field of psychology for over 20 years. I provide individual/couple therapy to adults with various concerns, including anxiety, depression, relationship issues, trauma, loss, work related stress, and cross-cultural adjustment. My individual clients include those dealing with mental health challenges; making decisions about career or relationships; or pursuing more fulfilling approaches to life. I work with couples of all ages, stages, and compositions, addressing communication, infidelity, loss of passion, infertility, parenting, strengthening relationships, and deciding. The goal of therapy isn’t to ‘feel better’, although that should be one of the outcomes. Dr. Scarborough is a licensed clinical psychologist and board certified pediatric neuropsychologist who provides comprehensive neuropsychological/psychological evaluation services for children, adolescents, and young adults.
