The Port Jefferson Psychological & Vocational P.C. provide a full range of psychological services, including individual psychotherapy, psychological evaluations, and other consultations. We contract with several psychologists and social workers dedicated to providing the most comprehensive and professional services to members of the community. Each clinician has their own areas of specialty as well as their own preferred mode of treatment.
Sarah Long, Psy.D. is the director of the practice. She is a member of the American Psychological Association, the New York Psychological Association, and the Suffolk County Psychological Association. She has been in practice since 2006 and been in private practice in Port Jefferson since 2011.
Dr. Long has substantial clinical experience with young children, particularly those with behavioral challenges, family stresses, educational difficulties, and autistic spectrum disorders. She also works with adolescents and adults with a broad range of difficulties. She draws elements from developmental psychology, cognitive-behavioral therapy, family therapy, psychodynamic therapy, and play therapy in her work.
