I am a Diplomate in Clinical Psychology certified by the American Board of Professional Psychology. I'm psychodynamically oriented, while at the same time I am direct and interactive in my approach. My focus is on correcting maladaptive behaviors and identifying the unconscious processes and irrational beliefs which underlie them. My expertise is in helping persons who are depressed, anxious, experiencing loss, having relationship problems and/or concerns about sexual matters. I accept most insurance including Medicare. I received my Masters of Social Work degree from Fordham Graduate School of Social Work in 1993. I have been in private practice for more than twenty years. I was awarded "Social 'Worker in the Trenches" of the year award in 2001 from the Hudson Valley Division of NASW.

i work with clients ages 10and over but primarily adults with a widevarietyof mood,anxiety,obsessive compulsive.grief,chronic pain and illness,personality disorders.anger and stressmanagement,grief issues,bipolar disorder,ADHD.couples therapy.With all of my clients I focus on identifying their distressing dysfunctional symptoms,their negative thoughts that lead to debilitating emotions and behaviors,and teaching my clients positive coping skills such as emotional deregulation,interpersonal effectiveness,staying in the present,and learning distress tolerance skills,I perform family,individal,and couples therapy focusing on the treatment of adolescents as well as adult clients to maximize their potential.

I have 40+ years of clinical practice in a variety of mental health and substance abuse treatment settings. I believe in an approach that enhances a person's growth in self awareness. I have found that a person's ability to change is essential to their well-being and quality of life. My experience has led me to believe that therapy is a collaborative relationship. Each individual is unique. My approach focuses on the emotional, mental, physical and spiritual qualities of the person's life. We will utilize a variety of clinical approaches that are effective.
