My goal in working with you is to hear your story, patiently help you make sense of your lived experience, help you create unique coping skills, and build your preferred life. Years ago I worked with cancer patients and their families at a Bone Marrow Transplant Unit in South Carolina. Their situations were varied and complex, their physical and emotional pain was deep. As they talked about their pain, hopelessness, worthlessness, loss, anxiety, and uncertainty, together we made sense of their confusion. Likewise, as we work together, I will help you and your challenges in the same caring and skillful way.
After working years at Crozer Community Hospital with the underserved, I continue to serve a variety of populations, ages, and gender orientations. I am a dedicated, interactive, and skilled grief, trauma-focused, and strengths-based therapist. I also treat those struggling with depression, anxiety, personality disorders, and other stressful conditions.
In my practice, I utilize DBT, CBT, EMDR, and other treatment modalities as needed to fully meet you where you're at and respectfully challenge you to take the next steps toward your mental health recovery. Life Changes Grief Group
Life Changes Grief Group is a small group of grievers that meets weekly (please call to confirm) for those who are struggling with the loss of an important person, job, or another type of life changing stressor. Life Changes provides a safe environment for you to begin the healing process by sharing your deepest thoughts and feelings with other grievers.
