When I meet someone, my initial goal is to understand who you are as a person and all the systems in your life. I believe that there is often not just one explanation for why we feel the way we do, but rather a collection of experiences that create our perspectives. Oftentimes, we are very focused on what is directly in front of us, addressing the symptoms and not the underlying issues. I'd like to address both. Our conversations often start with what is happening in your life right now. Once we get an understanding of your current thought processes, we zoom out and explore larger themes and perspectives and how they all connect.
My role is to listen, offer perspective, and assist you with your goals. I specialize in CBT (how what we believe affects what we do), psychoeducation (teaching how our brain works), and psychodynamic therapy (what influences you today). You have survived everything you've ever been through; let's use your strengths to help you through your challenges.
My office is a safe and inclusive space for everyone. I like our sessions to be casual and conversational where you can be you; use humor, curse a little, or teach me about what's important to you. I'm here to listen to you and support you in your specific goals, so lets start a conversation and see how we can work together to make some changes.
