Phoenix Center for Experiential Trauma Therapy's Groups
Post-Traumatic Growth Group
This is not a group where we will sit in a circle telling war-stories about trauma or loss. Here, we will cultivate the healing experiences necessary to grow from trauma. Sessions will be facilitated with an emphasis on safety, building strengths, and empowering participants to put change into action. Group sessions will include various embodied and experiential forms of therapy that allow us to move beyond words or narratives. Instead of an emphasis on retelling trauma stories - we will build the strengths necessary to change how trauma lives within us and alter the trajectories of our lives going forward.
Women’s Post-Traumatic Growth Group
The purpose of this counseling group is to bring together women who wish to address; relational trauma, emotional pain, self-medicating behaviors, feelings of disconnect, and feelings of defectiveness, which are often present following trauma. We will spend our time together constructing a special space in which to explore relationship with self and others, identify strengths, and examine a sense of purpose through interpersonal and experiential group therapy techniques. This group will emphasize the discovery of new possibilities and motivation for positive change that is often born in the wake of significant trauma.
LGBTQ Group: The Power of Community to Heal Trauma
The purpose of this group is to bring together adults of the LGBTQIA+ (lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, intersex, and gender expansive populations) community who have experienced trauma specific to their identity. By creating community among the group, healing can occur, and one can begin to unify the separate parts of themselves to create wholeness in their life. Together, we will spend our time exploring your identities and building a more cohesive and unified self through interpersonal and psychodramatic group therapy techniques. This is an ongoing group for adults. This group will begin Aug 18th, 2022.
