Announcement icon We are offering teletherapy sessions for clients through which we continue to provide high quality experiential trauma therapy services
**Low-Cost Trauma Therapy Available with Our Graduate Interns** While other programs claim to be 'trauma-informed', our practice revolves entirely around trauma therapy. This is what we do best. The Phoenix Center for Experiential Trauma Therapy is named after the legendary figure of the phoenix that dies and is reborn from its own ashes – it is a symbol of transformation and resilience. The phenomenon of growing after experiencing trauma has been labeled “Post-Traumatic Growth”. This is exactly what we help our clients cultivate in their lives. While we cannot change the past, we can change how past experiences live within us.
Has talk therapy proven ineffective for you? Maybe it's time to try a new approach. Our treatment philosophy is rooted in action-based and experiential trauma therapies including EMDR, psychodrama, gestalt therapy, IFS, and creative arts therapies. We have therapists that specialize in work with people in recovery, the LGBTQ+ community, and adolescents.
Dr. Scott Giacomucci, DSW, LCSW, BCD, FAAETS, PAT, is the Founder/Director of the Phoenix Center which has a team of trauma therapists that is constantly growing, as well as graduate interns who are available to provide low-cost services. We also offer a variety of free community groups for specific communities - see our website.

Phoenix Center for Experiential Trauma Therapy's Groups

Experiential Trauma Therapy and Psychodrama Group

This is not a group where we will sit in a circle telling war-stories about trauma or loss. Here, we will cultivate the healing experiences necessary to grow from trauma. Sessions will be facilitated with an emphasis on safety, building strengths, and empowering participants to put change into action. Group sessions will include various embodied and experiential forms of therapy that allow us to move beyond words or narratives. Instead of an emphasis on retelling trauma stories - we will build the strengths necessary to change how trauma lives within us and alter the trajectories of our lives going forward.

Growing Beyond Relational Trauma

The purpose of this group is to bring together individuals who have experienced relational trauma to explore and deepen their relationship with themselves and others. We will spend our time exploring and building relationships in the here-and-now using a variety of both traditional process group therapy techniques and experiential group therapy techniques. Topics will include interpersonal relationships, stress, ambiguous loss, the neurobiology of trauma and loss, attachment, and destructive fears, with a focus on self-care, transformation, and both personal and interpersonal growth. Begins Feb 17th, facilitated by Hadyn Briggs

Women's Experiential Trauma Therapy Group

ADDRESSING TRAUMA, GRIEF, AND AMBIGUOUS LOSS THROUGH EXPERIENTIAL GROUP THERAPY This is a group for any woman ready to grow, live your life from a place of feeling whole, and practice being grounded in the present moment. Trauma, grief, and loss look different in all of our lives. Loss is at the heart of all trauma. Sometimes, we may even be experiencing trauma and grief over what is called an ambiguous loss, or losses which are not characterized by death. The opposite of loss is connection, which is what this group provides – a safe place for connection, growth, and healing.
