I am a clinical social worker in private practice in Deerfield and Assistant Professor of Psychiatry at Loyola Medical School with 50 years of experience. I have an active cognitive-behavioral, problem solving approach to treatment. I have a special interest in treating anxiety, depression, and marital/relationship discord. I utilize relaxation techniques and hypnosis for specific problems such as chronic pain, phobias, and test/performance anxiety. Since the therapeutic relationship is an essential curative element in treatment, I pride myself on being able to have an empathetic relationship with my patients.
I treat a wide variety of issues with a speciality in anxiety, depression, and relationship discord. I also help people deal with isolation and adjusting to new life situations.
