The most important part of therapy is creating a healing relationship that can allow for the change that the client is looking for. I focus on making sure I create a space with the client's help that allows the client to be fully present. Sometimes we are working on anxiety, depression, difficult emotions and sometimes we are stuck in patterns we want to change. Using the relationship as the foundation, I am able to help the client with "active choices" that can reduce anxiety, increase new desires, and stop patterns from occurring.

With the help of group therapy I try to provide a supportive place where we can feel connected. Through it we can learn more about ourselves and work on the many different things that feel difficult. Groups can be a wonderful place to understand ourselves in relationship with others

I believe our culture can be important and sometimes it's invisible. We pass it over and so do many of those around us. Even though we might not always know exactly what it means to us, it can connect us and can be very important to who we are.

Phillip Channing Plemons Horner's Groups

Relationship Group

The group gives people a chance to explore interactions with others in a group. With the help of the therapist, individuals can explore a dynamic living in the moment process. In group therapy it can be very important to be in a "here and now" process. I think of the here and now as the ability for a person to express their immediate thoughts without filtering or suppressing them. Group can be a place where people can rebuild relationships and grow closer by understanding intimacy. People can heal from pains, struggles, or past relationships with the help of new relationships.
