I like to work with adults, young adults, and late adolescents dealing with depression, anxiety, interpersonal concerns, LGBTQ+ issues, and/or substance abuse difficulties, often using an action-oriented and cognitive-behavioral (CBT) approach. Of necessity, the approach will vary somewhat depending on the need. A licensed clinical psychologist, I have been in practice for 47 years, and previously served as director for the Counseling and Psychiatric Service (CAPS) at Georgetown University for 15 years. Currently I am providing services virtually, by teletherapy, using a secure video platform.
Feel free to call or write if you would like more information or if you think it would be useful to meet. For those interested in reading more, I co-authored a self-help book entitled "Beating the College Blues" and co-edited "College Mental Health Practice," a text for professionals.
I am licensed to provide services to individuals residing in Washington DC, Virginia, Pennsylvania, and New York. In addition, under an interstate agreement known as PsyPact, I am also authorized to offer teletherapy services in an additional 34 states (google "PsyPact map" for details) including Maryland. Feel free to reach out if you have any questions.
